Jay's Interior Designs' owner, Jay, values being involved in their community. A life-long, generations-passed tradition of Jay's family is to head to the Huntsdale Fair in Newville each August to help run the kids' games. Jay's Great Uncle, Ken Sheaffer, played a large role in creating and maintaining "Kiddie Land" since the 1980s. When Ken passed away, Jay and her family members stepped up and took on huge roles in planning and hosting Kiddie Land in 2025, performing duties from attending auctions to finding vendors, organizing spaces, setting up games, and more! In order to help some of the other volunteers with planning their spaces, Jay offered to help Michelle with planning the layout of the Snow Cone & Cotton Candy kitchen area. Jay & Michelle worked together to make a list of the equipment they would need, and took measurements of existing equipment to understand sizes. Jay worked to input this information into a 3D modeling program and created an agreed-upon, functional layout that would serve thousands during the fair!
